Trahern Cook Creative Director
Trahern has always been an artist. During a televised interview with one of Columbia, SC's most honored news personalities, Trahern publicly acknowledged his desire to commit his life to the pursuit of Art as both a career and passion. He was 7. The Interviewer was Mr. Knowzit. He then held one fist to his eye and cranked the other fist as he helped Mr. Knowzit start the cartoon. (His hand cranking motion was in reverse, confirming he was truly an artist.)
Many felt tip markers and rolls of recycled computer paper later, Trahern continued his development as a storyteller with paper and paint. After attending the SC Governor's School for the Arts, he went on to study at Rhode Island School of Art and Design and Ringling School of Art and Design where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1992. Trahern worked as a Freelance Illustrator in Nashville, Tennessee before moving back to his hometown where he continues to write, illustrate, and paint. His illustrations have been featured in editorial magazines and childrens books, on retail products for major retail chains, and on CD covers. His art has been presented in local galleries and shows and his prints have been sold all over the States.
Trahern lives on the outskirts of Columbia, SC with his wife, Lori, and his two children, Mazie Fran and Walt. He welcomes visitors who have the time to enjoy a tall glass of iced tea and listen to a few of his stories by the campfire.
