Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
 
Tom Petty was twenty years older than me. Now that I'm in my late forties, I have been going back to the albums the Heartbreakers recorded when they were around my age. I had been doing that. Then, Oct.2, the day after my 47th birthday, I heard the news. Tom was gone. Now I go back and listen and hear it and it's still alive though sweeter. But the Heartbreakers, they played together like 5 fingers of the same hand.
 
I'm a painter inspired by so many musicians. What I hear from Tom Petty, was the art of being, so I am inspired to walk the art of being as a painter. But I also just dig their music.
